Sending SMS messages via an SMS modem is a viable option if you want to send/receive SMS messages to and from Witura SMS Software. While an SMS modem is not fast (6-10 messages a minute), they are relatively inexpensive to run and do not require an internet connection. The modem has it's own SIM card and correspondingly it's own phone number. Users send SMS messages with a queries to the SIM card number and it responds with the query result.
